I hope to work on a basic Web page for the event soon. We’ll probably want to define the URL pretty quickly so we can refer people to the site. The address should be short, descriptive, and easy to remember. It can take on the form of a subdomain, e.g. http://flags.alpinezone.com/ or as a file under the AlpineZone domain name, e.g. http://www.alpinezone.com/flags.htm.
I suggest the subdomain version as it’s easier to use to refer people. So, what should it be? Post your suggestions here and I’ll start a poll with the first five or ten suggestions.
Flags.alpinezone.com works for me….
I agree with Frodo:
http://flags.alpinezone.com/Okay. Got a real basic Web page up here. It will improve soon based on feedback from this forum.
We need to talk more a bit about tracking who’s hiking which mountain. RJ – will you still be responsible for this? How about forwarding the list again (as an HTML file) so I can practice incorporating it into the site?
More to come…
Yes. I need to go over the procedure with one of computer people who will be in at 1:00 pm today.
I basically need to convert the file from Microsoft Access to Excel to an HTML file. It’s not hard to do, I am just having a bad case of brain-lock right now.
RJ – Sounds good. Should I set up a separate Email account for this, to keep your personal account clean? flags@alpinezone.com ?
I sent you the HTML file at both e-mail addresses. Your main one, and the new one “flags@alpinezone.com” Let me know if you received the file.
You can just send the answer to my e-mail address, rather than fill up this thread.
