I will definitely be there if we do it again, and I don’t have any opinion that we shouldn’t. Last year was very moving and powerful up on the Dome; my only regret was that a number of people showed up just after we’d taken the flag down at 2:00.
I most certainly would be interested in doing it again. We enjoyed the afternoon on Cannon and had a wonderful group. I just hope for a nice day weather-wise like we had last year!
Definately! Very inspiring! I now live in MD, would love to fly up and place a flag!

😀
We will be participating. We have reservations at Osceola Vista Campground for the weekend of 09/13/03.
We will most definitely organize a group to fly our flag on the summit of Mt Cabot w/owner permission to use the closed Mt Cabot Trail once again.
Just the thought feels so good!We would definetly be interested in doing it again. It was a very moving experience. 😛
Jaynei would be interested – i would like to bring the flag from mount marcy on 9/11 to mt. washington on 9/13

Well, it seems there’s a fair amount of interest in participating in the event, but I need some help in planning and coordinating it. None of the ‘committee’ members from last year have gotten back to me indicating they can help again. I need help in the following capacities:
1 – I need someone to be the recipient of sign-ups and respond to inquiries to the flags@alpinezone.com Email address. This individual will be responsible for keeping an Excel spreadsheet of the sign-ups and refer folks with questions either to the FAQ, the forums here, or answer the questions directly. They will need to Email the spreadsheet to me as often as possible (perhaps once in the morning and once at night) or when updates occur.
2 – I need some members to help promote the event; i.e. post messages in other forums, Email friends family and have them do the same (worth of mouth), contact media coverage if applicable.
3 – I also need active members to start some dialogue in these forums to help improve the event, the Flags Web site, etc.
4 – It would also be great to have someone with better PHP/MySQL programming skills than me set up an automated sign-up form/database.
There are probably some other items I’m missing. I simply don’t have time to devote to these functions. My role will include maintenance of the Flags Web site and Peaks list. That’s about all I have time for.
I was hoping those that took on these roles last year would help out again as I feel the event was relatively well-organized. There’s certainly room for improvement though. Please reply if you want to help. I’m not sure this event be as successful as last year without some others involved. It may not even happen. Please help!
I am willing to do the signups!

Hi to all,
The8re, I would like to sign up to fly our flag on Mt Cabot, with permission from the owner to hike the offically closed trail. Anyone out there want to hike this trail with us?!
Hi The8re, we’d like to sign up to fly a flag on Mt. Lincoln.
Thanks!
Hold on, everbody. This thread is not for sign-ups. We’ll eventually have a form set up that people can use to select a peak. We’ll probably officially start accepting sign-ups later this month or in August…
I will definitely help promote the event on some websites.
If people who sign up list the town they are in, that could help promote the event to local papers (for example, we coould tell the Concord Monitor that 2 groups from Concord were going, and 5 peaks were being covered by people from neighboring towns).
