3.20 mi 1 hr 38 min +1933 ft on Imp TrailThis trail makes a loop over the cliff that bears the Imp Profile, providing fine views of the Presidential Range. The ends of the loop are on NH 16, with the north end between the Mt. Washington Auto Rd. and Gorham. The south branch leaves NH 16, runs level for 75 yd. then turns sharp right. It crosses a brook and follows an old logging road

part of the AT. Water is very scarce on many parts of this trail because it runs mostly on or near the crest of the ridge. The best views in this area are from the ledgy knob called Mt. Lethe, a few steps to the left of the trail. A good outlook to the Presidentials is passed 70 yd. before the trail reaches the wooded summit of Middle Carter Mountain (sign).to Middle Carter Mtn 44° 18′ 11″ 71° 10′ 04″
