The group either stayed at the Shapleigh or Highland Center the night before. We met as planned, 8:30, took photos, had a moment of silence at 8:46:30 and headed out up Crawford Path to Mizpah Cutoff, met at the hut for some mid-morning snacks and then continued on to Jackson. We had a new pole this year, designed from 2″ PVC with 1.5″ PVC inserts, 16′ tall. It stood well and handled the wind with ease. We never saw the sun (amazed to see the blue sky at Wildcat) and the wind was stead. Surprised also to see that winds on Washington were only 30mph as it seemed more steady. Another fantastic experience with a great group of people.
