The Wildcat crew is a trio (Joe, Matt and Mark) who have completed many Flags peaks over the past several years. We have all the flag gear to raise a flag in near hurricane force winds :)! Last year we raised our flag on Whiteface.
Our plan is to reach Wildcat summit via Nineteen Mile Brook and Wildcat Ridge Trails. For those unfamiliar:
Nineteen Mile Trailhead parking (Rte 16) to Junction of Wildcat Ridge Trail – 3.5 miles, 1,945 elevation gain
Wildcat Ridge junction to Wildcat Summit – .6 miles, 980 elevation gain (Steep)
Just beyond the trail junction is the Carter Notch Hut. It should be open with bathrooms and water available.
We’ll meet at the trailhead on Rte 16 at 7:30 – 7:45AM and start up by 8:00AM.
We hike with 2 10 foot PVC “poles”. We alternate who carries the poles as we move along. Rest of the gear is divided among packs of the crew.
Please note: We are on the Appalachian Trail. Trail magic for through hikers will be considered part of this hike. The magic part is to be determined.
