Greetings! I am coordinating the event for Mt. Moriah this year. This is our group’s third year flying a flag, and we already have at least a dozen participants committed. All parties and carpools will be meeting at the Carter-Moriah Trailhead on Bangor Street in Gorham at approximately 8:30. As with previous years, we will be splitting into two teams to accommodate everyone’s paces. The faster team will hike ahead with the equipment and target an 11:00 summit time, leaving an hour to scout out the summit and set up our flag apparatus (four 5′ PVC pieces, four 50′ lengths of paracord, and a 6×4 flag). The slower team will have that extra hour to make it to the summit by noon and participate in the final raising of the flag.
