Good Morning all!
Our plan to hike Mt. Jackson.
For those not familiar with this summit, we will depart the parking area along Rt. 302, about .1 mile south of the Highland Center.
Note: Parking may be a little challenge as there is ongoing construction in the area. Please be careful where you park to ensure you are not interfering with traffic or construction.
We will depart the parking area promptly at 8:30 am.
Please look for a Black Toyota Tundra with the plate “Hiker”, that’s me, we’ll pick up the poles and distribute amongst the team. We have ropes and the flag already provided.
We will take the Webster-Jackson trail approximately 2.6 miles to the summit. This is usually about a 2.5 hour hike up, and we need to allow time to setup before noon.
This seems like a large group, I would ask you to break yourselves into smaller groups to stay within the requirements of no more than 10 to a group, according to the WMNF regulations. We’ll just leave a couple of minutes between us.
On your way back down after the event, you may want to take the side trail to visit Mt. Webster, Bugle Cliff and Elephant Head.
