Madison Summit Team has been communicating via email & in person since many of us work together. We’ve narrowed down the route options but will likely not make a final decision until a few days prior. When we do I’ll post that route choice.

Pretty sure it will be an early start ? 6am since most routes are 4+ hours book time & our group is mixed in hiking experience. We’ll want to have plenty of time to get up there without a forced march. Plus we’re hoping to get our flags up early & go on walkabout to Adams

Most likely we will choose one of these routes:

1.The Pine Link Trail, which ascends Mt. Madison from the highest point of the Pinkham B (Dolly Copp) Rd.

2.Daniel Webster-Scout Trail, which begins on the main campground road, 0.9 mi. south of the Dolly Copp Campground entrance on the Pinkham B (Dolly
Copp) Rd., on the left in another 0.1 mi.

Both are about 4 miles, +4000 ft of elevation gain, 4 hours book time.

We will meet @6am, divide up gear, and head out no later than 6:30am.

We hope to be up top by 1030 or 11am; It’s our hope to have our flag up flying within 30 minutes, hold our brief ceremony immediately, then head out to Adams for lunch!
