Another year and another moving and memorable event.

The closing of the Sawyer River Road added 2 miles of road walk to our travels to Mt Carrigain. The group was undaunted, and committed to being at the peak by 12N. Three of us biked the additional two miles, and two of us hiked.

The group were at the Signal Ridge trail head by 8AM.

We had an able and motivated group. Charlie, Dave, Pete, Walt, and Sharon.

We made it to the peak by 11:30AM, and raised the flag by 12N on top of the fire tower.

Conditions were windy and cloudy, with a few blue sky moments as the clouds passed over.

We packed up by 2PM and made it most of the way out, but not before the rain hit. I’ve never been more soaked…

Every one made it back safe and sound.

Congratulations to one of our crew, Dave, for completing his 48th peak on this trip. And in a strange coincidence, two other hikers also completed their 48th peaks on Carrigain.

A great day and a great event to be part of.
