Greetings Team Moosilauke
Less than two weeks, hope everyone is ready or preparing for our day on the summit of Moosilauke. Route to summit will be via Gorge Brook Tr (~3.6m trek) Plan is to meet at trailhead between 7:30 and 7;45, on trail NLT 8:00, this gives ample time for all levels of hiking speeds. PARKING: parking is typically along road by Ravine Lodge (no actual trailhead parking lot), but cost is still $5. That said allow time to find parking and possibly walk 1/4-1/2m to trailhead.
We can talk about descent options later. As we get closer to Sept 9th, we should have a better understanding of the weather conditions, but as most us know, conditions can change rapidly, especially on exposed summits like Moosilauke. Be Prepared and stay safe. PLenty of water sources along trail provided you have a filtration system. We have a large contingent joining this year (registered and non-registered), Vets, medical, first responders, friends and neighbors so plenty time to share stories and experiences at this event. Looking forward to meeting everyone as we pay respect to our fallen and vow never to forget the impact 9-11 had on this country and to many of us more directly in one way or another.
