Well said Frodo, well said. You guys have the right attitude, that is one reason I really like participating. It’s about the remembrance, period.

          Flags on the 67?

          100?

          115?

forget the NE 115 – you would have to get the 46ers involved – a few times i have mentioned this (flags) to the “big shots” in the adirondack 46ers – not any interest at all…

as far as i know, i am the only one raising a flag in New York for 9-11.

This is sooo cool! folks wanting to honor those lost on that tragic day, 9/11 in whichever way they can, on any mountain they can climb and raise the American flag. I just think its great.
Its not about altitude. Its about attitude. And thats some GOOD attitude! :flag:

We were missing some of the team this year due to unavoidable circumstances but three of us were up on Monadnock yesreday and raised the flag at 12, down it came at 2. It was quite windy with sustained winds that had to top 30mph. The winds even wore through the 2 cable ties on the lower gromet of the flag, so we had to do some repairs which worked out well. There were LOTS of people on top throughout the event. It seemed like Franklin Pierce & Keene State were having a competition as to who could get more students on the hill that day. Almost everyone did not know of the event, but they learned. Everyone received it very well. The pole arrangement worked very well despite the winds, second year in a row that we’ve used it.

Here’s the dropbox link for all the pics on Monadnock, don’t know how long they’ll be out there though. One thing I didn’t mention, I attached two flyers in plastic holders to the pole explaining the event. The wind literally ripped the plastic holding the primary flyer to shreds. Gotta come up with a sturdier solution next year.
