Hello Jim! I am Peak Coordinator for Hancock. I cannot log into the website, but wanted to send our plan. If there is a better place for me to put this, please let me know. Going to keep trying with the website as well.
Mountain: Mt. Hancock
Trail: Hancock Notch to
Milage: 4.5 to the summit, 10.0 miles round trip (potentially planning to do a sprint up South)
Elevation gain : roughly 2700 feet.
Book Time : 6 hours and 15 minutes – we are planning for closer to 10 hours (12 if you include the time up with flag)
The plan: Meet for trailhead around 7:00 AM I am expecting a slower than book time pace due to the extra stuff we have to carry, as well as knowing who we will have (potential for a 3 year old (weather depending – this will be his third FoT48). Summit for 11:30 AM. Flight time will be from then until 2:00pm where we’ll pack it all down and head back the same way we came with a potential spur up to South Hancock depending on spirits and weather. I have a complete flagpole setup and flag ready to go. Lookin forward to seeing everyone.
