The plan is as follows:
Meet: Lonesome Lake Hut.
When: 8:15 a.m. on September 14, 2019, time to hike to summit is 2 1/2 – 3 hours based on everyone’s unique speed (I’m not quick and like to stop and look)
Route: Fishin’ Jimmy Trail; Kinsman Junction ; Kinsman Ridge to North Summit
Distance: Approximately 2.6 miles from Lonesome Lake Hut
Elevation Gain: Approximately 1530 feet from the hut ; 2530 from the parking lot
Parking: Limited parking in Franconia Notch, so come early to get space or be prepared to park and walk a bit. Lafayette Campground Parking, Falling Waters, Cannon Lot, etc.
How to Find: I’m easy to spot plus a sign will be on my pack. I wear an older wool fedora type hat.
Flag & Pole: A 15-20 foot segmented pole will be brought, it flew on South Hancock in 2018 well with a standard size flag. I can carry it, but do not mind sharing the load either! If anyone wants to bring a baked treat those go over well too for everyone involved. If you have other requests, by all means voice it out.
