Just a note… New Hampshire hiked to Owls Head this weekend… IN THE RAIN! I rest my case.
Jen made an astute observation….The only time I have hiked WITHOUT her I had BEAUTIFULLY clear skies, sun and warm weather. She wonders if perhaps SHE is the cursed one 😆 😉

Curses begone!
PLEASE DO!!!!! Right about now Im at my wits end….I sure could use some luck.
And maybe I could moon Owl’s Head for being such a little bugger to Bill, Jen and I this past weekend. Hey, at the very least Sherpa John gets a show 😮 😆 😆
Brian
Ya know, the only time I ever hiked with Jen it rained! And later you’d left, so when I hiked out by myself it was dry and nice.
Hmm…
Too funny. Thanks for the laugh MJ!! The rain is just a random occurrence.

It would be nice to finish my 48’s… on Madison… on my 148th birthday!:D
wow – “148” i didn’t think you looked that old – what kind of skin cream do you use???
I may be speaking too soon here. Perhaps the skin cream is dirt! Share it with us please.
😮 😀
:beer:With the onslaught of tropical storm Ernesto this weekend, and the lack of any seroius tropical storms elsewhere on the map, I’ll bet its safe to say we will miss anything like these weekends weather for our Fly Day next week!
I think the only real problem would ever be a tropical storm this time of year, so glad to get it out of the way this weekend.
THINK SUNSHINE! :flag:
Infared images of the Tropics show nothing really progressing in terms of tropical storm formation. I’m very pleased to see that. Advanced weather forecasts look good too. But being New England, we’ll probaly have to wait until Event day to know for sure 😀 .
LOWER 80’s AND SUNSHINE!!!!!!!!!
WHOO HOOOO
:flag: :flag: :flag: :flag: :flag:     :flag: :flag:80’s? For northern NH in September that’s a downright heat wave!
Checking out the NOAA models, I see a strong “zonal flow” west to east with Canadian cold front dropping, will certainly kick off some decent winds.
I think its too dry to make any rain.
Expect westerly winds with possible 20-30mph at summits, if not stronger.
Makes sure you are prepared to hold your rigs together! :flag:I just love the sound of that forecast!
I go with the flow. I’ve a 12′ x 12′ canopy that will be set-up. This always keeps the bad weather away. The weather gods know we are *prepared*. So any bad weather simply just moves on!
Canasta, pinochle, chess, campfires, & great fellowship. This is what makes a super weekend. As always. See you there! Woo-hoo!!
Hey guys – current forecast on Weather.com is for a chance of Thunder Showers. Might be worth while stating what the official policy will be in case of bad weather and/or forecast for a chance of lightning.
