Hello all…
We are not finished. To be honest, we simply don’t have enough footage for it to work the way we want it to.
With that being said, we’re looking into our options. We’d like to follow one specific group up (hopefully a group with a strong tie to 9/11) this coming September to help fill the movie in.
The footage from Mt. Liberty is awesome. I’d like to get some of it up on this website to encourage others to hike in ’06. But as a movie, it’s just not working as is.
So I’m looking for volunteers. We need to follow a group up and document their journey this 9/11.
That’s where we stand. Feel free to email me at mooka27@yahoo.com with any questions/concerns/etc.Thanks…
Film Crew from 2005in reply to: Flags on the 48 film #51952Here’s an update on the FLAGS ON THE 48 Documentary:
We are currently still cutting away. It’s changed forms many times over and we like where its taking us so far. We’ve created a 60 second teaser, available in Quicktime format for iTunes. It’s totally email-able, so if you’re interested, email me at: mooka27@yahoo.com.
In order to watch it, download (for free) itunes or quicktime from apple’s website, http://www.apple.com.
Let us know what you think, of course, and we’re excited to premiere the film when that time comes (which will be soon!)
Yours in film and mountains,
David and Matthew
Visual Army Productionsin reply to: Flags on the 48 film #51949Hello all!
Just dropping a line to update about our film. We are still in post-production and have just hired a composer to do the film’s score. I should have a 90 second teaser trailer within the next couple of weeks up on one of our websites (http://www.visualipod.com)We’re looking to screen the film in many different places, so if anyone has any ideas, feel free to contact me…
Look forward to hearing from you,
Davidin reply to: GET-TOGETHER Mini Meeting #50954I will be there as well, with a small camera crew (three of us)…as we begin to document this amazing event.

in reply to: Flags on the 48: The Documentary #50921I teach documentary filmmaking at the University of Rhode Island, so first and foremost, I’ll use the documentary as a learning tool. I also plan to go to festivals with it. I want to get as many eyes on this thing as possible…that’s why I make movies in the first place.
I appreciate your concern about commercializing the event, but can assure you I’m not doing this to make money. There are a few things I truly enjoy doing in this world, and two of them are filmmaking and hiking. This takes care of both.
I will be trying to raise some money to cover the cost of production, and will be creating as much buzz as possible after we start production.
And speaking of production…is anyone available during the week for interviews? We’re planning on putting the wheels in motion in the next two weeks…
Thanks
