in reply to: Thank you, participants #50332
We just wanted to offer up our thanks to the organizers. They are doing a better job each year! This has become an event that our boys (and adults!) in Troop 83 have really enjoyed being a part of. And several more now have the North Slide route up North Tripyramid under their belts as well!

in reply to: Tripyramid, Middle and Tripyramid, North #50195After a great night at Waterville Campground the Troop 83 crew split into two groups to start up the Livermore Road. Some hiked all the way and some of us biked to the Tripyramid Trail junction and put our bikes in the woods for the return. The north slide was still pretty damp so it made for a slow and careful ascent. But we had the flags up on the North and Middle peaks by noon. Lots of traffic, and all the comments positive. At 2 we took the North flag down and joined the rest of our group at Middle for a group picture. Then we took that flag down, went down the south slide and back to the Livermore road. Then a wonderful 10 minute bike ride down to the cars! Then on to another great night at the campground. Sorry we couldn’t join up at the Mooseland but we enjoyed the day anyways.
in reply to: Almost halfway! #49654Yes, the Scouts from Dracut are back! We noticed that there wasn’t much response for the Tripyramids last year so we figured we’d grab them. We usually camp at Osceola Vista for the weekend so this will work out great!
See you all out there!!

2004 Both Tripyramidsin reply to: Peak count (2003) #49063Peak Name: Tecumseh
Short description of rigging and pole system: 20 foot long, 2″ dia PVC cut into (4) 5′ sections. Each joint had piece of EMT inside PVC for added strength. Drilled and bolted through both poles. Supported with multiple nylon guy lines. Pole was overbuilt for this years wind conditions but was a redesign based on last years experience on North Twin.
Any suggestion on improvements/changes for next year (optional): This is a great event and we appreciate the work of the organizers. We will be back!in reply to: Day Hiking or Base Camping/Backpacking? #48977Al,
We are also camping at Osceola Vista. We’re doing Tecumseh. We’ll be there Fri and Sat night. Stop by for a beer after…

in reply to: Reports from the 48 Flagsites! #48757Had a great day with a group of Scouts and adults from Troop 83 in Dracut MA taking the flag up North Twin and flying it for a wonderful 2+ hours. We had grand hopes of putting the flag up 20+ feet but mother nature felt otherwise. We did manage due to some fine flagpole engineering on Toms part to get it up above the trees in the wind. Folks on Hale and South Twin said it was quite visible. We could clearly see flags on South Twin, Hale, Garfield, and Flume(nice flagpole!).
Thanks to all who helped organize and especially to those who did the “limited view” summits.
I have some pictures which will be posted in the gallery as soon as I figure out how?!
