Good on you, Mate ! Keep an eye on the sky and join us at the Woodstock KOA for a beer if you can.
in reply to: weather report #53864Anything can happen but NOAA indicates chances are higher after 2pm at this point. We may bump up the schedule to be on the summit from 11 to 1 or something like that if thunderstorms are predicted for the afternoon.
Rod and Alan;
Are you bringing a flag and pole also ? We had a couple flags on Jackson last year, which was fine, some people like to bring their own and some people don’t. The larger flag we were going to bring is now staying in Plymouth, so I’ll probably have a 22′ pole and 4 x 6 flag.

I think that is the only Kabin near the tent site, correct? We are again across the grounds. See you then!
Yeah, apparently that’s “The” 2 bedroom Kabin. Oh well, you Honeymooners need your privacy. :argue: (just kidding)

Chip,
I believe I remember seeing your plan for Jackson, a peak I have thought about too. I think we met at KOA – seem to remember the Jackson connection. But then I may have already tasted my homemade “Blueberry Flume”. Did you get a chance to try some out? We were the Flume Team with about 5 tents at the front corner of the circle.

P.S. I heard a discussion of doing all 48 peaks for FOT48 events, I would be 102 yrs old if I did, maybe my son could do it! 😆Does it count if you do Field and Tom on one hike and North and South Twin on another, etc.? In other words, is it just one peak per year, or can we get credit for multiple peaks, as long as we are there when the flag is flying?
😀
A good question; I think it’s one for the Admin’s. Personally, I think if you peaked a number that day WITH a flag, it’d have to count, but one peak per year could be argued also.
Here’s the rest of our pics from Jackson;

No.
I did think of ‘burp when mileage was mentioned. We were at about 600 miles R.T.
TrekMan, yes we met, it was great meeting you ! :beer: :beer: :beer:
remember you invited me to your summer place and gave me the keys ??? 😉
We were in the cabin right there at the corner. I DID NOT get any Blueberry Flume :angry: ,
I think Tom and Laurie did, but I really did not need any more beer as several varieties were delivered by sundry guests… :blink:Anyway, a great weekend for an important Memorial with many great new friends !
in reply to: North Twin #53178Congratulations ! It was great meeting you. Thanks very much to the Moderators for all their work ! My boys have been challenged to make all 48 in annual events ! They’ll get back to me when their blisters heal !

in reply to: CNN to re-air 9/11 News Coverage #53124SJ, great to finally meet you and your “better half”. Congrats on Owlshead. I’m glad everyone was safe, we were thinking of you as we drove home through that storm that you were caught in.
