Uhh, one thing I haven’t mentioned is that we’re probably not going to bring the “condo”. One of our fellow hikers has a cabin that he offered and we couldn’t refuse…
I usually go with oatmeal and bananas. Lots of good carbs to keep you going. You could also go with some protein and add some eggs, which would also help.
On the trail I snack on more bananas and protein bars. I find that I’m not usually all that hungry when I’m hiking for some reason.
Don’t forget lots of water!
in reply to: For those staying at the KOA #52918On our way out after the planning meeting, the office asked me to reiterate the 5 mph speed limit and the dog rules. Please be respectful of these in particular, we don’t want to wear out our welcome!

I did! I posted a link to it to suck it off my website and get it onto the Fot48 site. Did nobody do that? It had the slight flaw of saying “3 days” instead of “4 days” in the history but since I didn’t mention exact dates I decided to not worry about redoing the whole thing just to fix that. 🙂
Ooops, did I miss that one? Post the link here and I’ll get it on this site.
😳We are staying at the KOA Broken Branch Campground, which is on Woodstock NH. You can check it out and get directions by cruising over to their web site:

We’ll probably hit the trailhead at about 8:00 AM so we can be sure we’ll hit the summit by noon. If you’ve never really hiked, you should try to get a decent pair of boots and break them in before the hike. You should also be sure to have some non-cotton clothing to hike in, EMS has some excellent options.
Welcome aboard!
