in reply to: 2006 Planning Weekend/Gathering #51983
I’d like to hit Eisenhower, but there are a couple others that certainly look good! The Kinsmans, and I’ve never actually hit Mt. Lincoln…
in reply to: 2006 Planning Weekend/Gathering #51980I’d like to nominate SilentCal as Grand Poobah of this year’s meeting as well. Oh yeah, I agree on the site and date, they look excellent.
in reply to: Flags on the 48 film #51947Nope!

I was just wondering…
how come there is no emoticon with boots
or one with a peace sign
or one coming and going from an outhouse
or one with a bandana
or one with a dog
or one with hiking poles…
How come????Only beacuse they have to be created, and I can only speak for myself, but my graphics capabilities are not extensive enough to create something that would look good. 🙁
If someone created them, it’s very easy to add them to the list.
Not sure why the flamethrower, machine gunner and vomitting emoticons are in there.

…In fact when I paricipated last year I was not the official flag for Mooselauke…
I was the official flag bearer for Moosilauke and we were more than happy to share the peak with you guys. We thought about introducing ourselves to your friend Dave’s wife, but thought she might just like to memorialize her husband in peace (although with 75 people on the summit, I don’t know if she accomplished that). Check out the pics from last year, you may see yourself in one or two.

I’ll have to check out the gallery again. There must be some new pix I haven’t seen yet.
Good ‘n you?!
😀I snuck ’em in there when no one was looking.
in reply to: An e-mail from an observer #51870We’re all dreaming if we think Jade is going to read these comments. And that’s fine by me. She seems to be the kind of person who wants to incite passion (albeit the negative kind) by making comments urging everyone to see her side while actively ignoring everyone else’s. I say we ignore her comments and move on. Let’s not justify this fanatic’s efforts or even dignify them with a response. She obviously has no idea why we’re doing what we’re doing.
in reply to: thanks administrators and moderators #51846Now THAT’S funny!
😆in reply to: thanks administrators and moderators #51843It’s been a lot of fun from my perspective. I can’t imagine not doing this, so for me it’s a no brainer! I, of course, only have done a very small percentage of the work, so I extend my thanks to the Moderators (SIlentCal and MichaelJ in particular) for keeping things on track, Frodo for the patches and Stephen for doing most of the administration. Of course this site would probably be a FrontPage template if it weren’t for Greg. A great team effort all the way around.

Can’t wait for next year!
It comes and goes so fast, doesn’t it? I’m with ya. In fact I think I’m going to take my flag to Bondcliff this Sunday just for the hell of it.

I have a quicktime movie of the Star Spangled Banner being played on a clarinet on Monroe from last year. I don’t know how to upload it though.
You can upload it just like a photo in the related gallery album. Ain’t Gallery cool?!

Oh, Stephen & Chris … that okay with you?
Yup!
Feel free to send them to me and I’ll get them posted. Sorry to have missed you at the Mooseland!
