Looks like Stony Brook Trail will be the route used to avoid having to drive further north from dolly copp where some of us will be staying that weekend. I’ve been warned of numerous false summits on this trail though (thanks silentcal) but it should be a good hike. Still some spots left for the team!

Well couldn’t that be the next step, covering all new england peaks? There’s not that many others, and I bet there’s enough interest to cover all other peaks for next year.

It would make a post-gathering event a bit tough for everyone though.

Agreed this has come a long way. It’s great to see so many involved. I’m curious if there’s coverage on the other new england fours. Any info on that???

very easy!!! nice to see so many peaks accounted for so early. will there be a thread to discuss trails to be taken/coordination with others, etc?

well at least for me the only thing that would keep me off the summit is an electrical storm.

Happy new year everyone. It was great to be part of the event last September, and I’m really looking forward to taking part again in ’05. Sunday will be fine for me. I’m still curious though how the peaks will be chosen this year now that the event has such a following. In any case I’ll be there, rain or shine, and hope to see others too, and of course beer/food/conversation afterwards.

                    Frodo and team:

I’m sorry we didn’t get a chance to meet at the Mooseland afterwards, we must have left just before your arrival. I spotted your flag and the numerous people on the summit of Adams, and I was surprised to see that ours was spotted (having only a 40 square foot flag). It must have looked like a point of color from your vantage point!

The Wildcat D crew was able to spot flags on Carter Dome, Madison, Adams, and Washington, and I’m pretty sure I spotted one on either South or Middle Carter. Beautiful day, wonderful gathering at the Grill…it was nice to meet everyone there.

I’ll keep an eye towards Adams this year from Wildcat D, I’m assuming you’ll be flying that same big flag from last year on Jefferson??? I think I should be able to spot it, and I’ll have some pictures, too. Frodo: have fun staying at the hut, I’m sure you’ll have a blast. :flag:

I just had an 💡 not for the signup of peaks for ’05, but for the journal I will have on Wildcat D. Many others I believe will have a journal at each summit for others to sign and share their thoughts, but what happens to this the following year? My suggestion is that separate journals be created for each peak, passing from group to group each year…and perhaps we could collect these from each team to be mailed to the coordinator of that same peak the following year..any thoughts or suggestions???

The Wildcat D crew (officially 2) will be leaving the area perhaps before dinner time to drive 4 hours home to Agawam, MA and Suffield, CT. I’m curious what time everyone is gathering at the Mooseland Grill….and does anyone plan on arriving early?

I was at the summit just minutes before you and littlebear?? arrived. unfortunately i didn’t sign the book, perhaps i’ll get the chance to do that someday. i had soloed the peak not expecting a flag-raising or anything other than a few people enjoying the views. i sat back and took it all in, promising myself to be on a peak for the following year. you’ve captured me in one of your photos (labelled “looking north”) i’m the one on the left, looking at the flag, shorts/blue shirt fixing my belt… that was quite a day, and i’m looking forward to the opportunity to raise a flag on Wildcat D. the only thing that will keep me from putting a flag on the tower will be lightning…i’ll keep an eye towards adams, and i’ll definitely have lots of pictures. :flag:
