in reply to: Highland Center update??? #50674
It is not in the cards for me this year to attend any gatherings before or after the event. 😮
However, I’m happy to say that thanks to the skills and suggestions of MichaelJ and Cal… 💡
a small gathering could be happening at Guyot. Seems there are several of us hiking in that general area…
come on over, pitch a tent and stay awhile. I’ll be at Guyot Saturday afternoon until Monday morning.
:flag:
I will miss my peeps but I know everyone is in good company wherever they may gather. 😀
Peace
dirt_girlin reply to: August 11: Camping Out #51112Very kind offer…thank you.
I will be there Thursday night.
I’m happy to have the opportunity to hang out with all you groovy people!
Hey Magic? You and Sky comming too?
:flag: :flag: :flag: :flag: :flag: :flag: :flag: :flag:
BTW SilentCal… good idea about letting W.Bond peeps know about a potential gathering at Guyot. It would be very cool if it happens.Absolutely!!
The more the merrier!! :flag:
I will be heading up to Guyot first thing (6am trailhead time 😮 ) Saturday morning and droping off my poles and flag stuff.
Then heading out for West (weather permitting) Bond…
Guessing I’ll get the other Bonds on the way out early Monday.
Could this 💡 be the beginning of a memorial hike gathering at 4000 feet?
How cool would that be?!!

Thanks MichaelJ…you got skills! :beer:Hey Artex, I may see you at Guyot…I’ll be the old lady with all the PVC poles. 😮
I’ll try to remember to leave something on my tent to show I’m a 9/11 memorial hiker.
Always happy to meet another hiker so say hey if you see me
and don’t laugh at all my PVC poles… 🙄
dirt_girlin reply to: Zealand Mountain #51163I’m thinking the Zealand Road update will be something like this…. the road is closed. 😮
If not send me an update but either way I think I will hike the Bonds before Sunday. I’m gonna try to get Friday afternoon off and hopefully make Guyot by Friday evening… we’ll see.
Other wise I’ll be at Broken Branch (not beaver brook 🙄 ) Campground Friday night.
I’m getting so excited about this hike… it will be a challenge. :flag:
I like that I hopefully will bag the 3 Bonds and Guyot in one weekend… woohoo.
dirt_girlin reply to: Zealand Mountain #51159Funny you should mention heading out Lincoln Woods!!!
I am fairly certain this will be my plan for the weekend of the 9/11/05 Memorial Hike.
Friday night…Broken Branch Campground
Saturday early…Hike the(3)Bonds
Saturday night… Guyot Shelter
Sunday… Zealand
Sunday night…Guyot Shelter
Monday… Homeward bound
Is there still someone at the Guyot shelter that late in the season?
Not exactly a sissy hike… 😮
Woohoo!!!
dirt_girlin reply to: Zealand Mountain #51156Great idea Michael… I may end up traveling solo up Zealand, Trevor may be working.
I can’t imagine anyone else wanting to put in this many miles for a day hike. It makes sense to stay at Ethan Pond (maybe even get up to Guyot) Saturday night.
I am very excited to be traveling any different trail to the summit!! I have the entire weekend and Monday off and would like to bag the Bonds while I’m up there, weather permitting.
Lots of options….so many trails… so little time.
dirt_girlin reply to: Add Other Hikers #50994Fabulous job on the registration Stephen!
It was almost too easy… 😮
Very impressive stats as well!! :flag:I am pleased to be a part of something that just gets better and better thanks to all the groovy peeps involved!!!
Peace

Awesome! Thanks for taking the time to put this together
That photo takes my breath away each and every time I see it.
It’s so perfect, I understand why you kept coming back to it.
I would use either “raised” or “flown” but wouldn’t use both…
ching ching…that’s the sound of my two cents.:flag:
dirt_girlin reply to: Proposed press release #50888Thanks to Stephen for all his work at the web site and being the press point man, hooray!! :flag:
I vote to post the proposed press release onto the web site Press Release page…
unless it needs time for additional comments????
I can’t help but feel that the web page should be current as soon as possible…
one less worry as the time draws near. 😀dirt_girl
in reply to: Proposed press release #50887I think talking to the campground owners and letting them know who much we would like to plan the
PRE hike get together there is a great idea, it keeps us in the back of their minds.
However, I don’t think you can acually give them a number yet, can you?
There was also talk of another camp ground gathering closer to the peaks that are not in the Broken Branch vacinity?
Is that still a possibility or will people just pop in at BB and then go to their own place of choice?
Perhaps a thread for campers sign up could give you some numbers but I still think it’s too early.
How much time do they need to secure the camping/ RV area for us?
Did I ask too many questions? 😀
Is everyone completely confused?
My work here is finished…

in reply to: Updated History Page ?? #50855Alright, it’s been fairly quiet on this subject so I think if the updated history is acceptable, it should be placed on the web site history page.
Frodo? Stephen? What do you think?
