in reply to: The Web Page #48564
Locking. See this thread:
in reply to: URL for Web site? #48610URL seems defined. Locking.
in reply to: URL for Web site? #48609RJ – I sent you a Private Message on this.
in reply to: URL for Web site? #48607RJ – Sounds good. Should I set up a separate Email account for this, to keep your personal account clean? flags@alpinezone.com ?
in reply to: Enthusiasm #486201/4 of the way there. I’m convinced we’ll make it. 😀 Come on everyone – let’s spread the word!
in reply to: URL for Web site? #48605Okay. Got a real basic Web page up here. It will improve soon based on feedback from this forum.
We need to talk more a bit about tracking who’s hiking which mountain. RJ – will you still be responsible for this? How about forwarding the list again (as an HTML file) so I can practice incorporating it into the site?
More to come…

Just want to clarify a few things. This poll is just a gage to measure current enthusiasm, and the event certainly will NOT be cancelled based on the outcome of this poll. It might move to another website if Alpinezone.com doesn’t support it based on this poll, but come Sept. 14th, flags will be flying on the mountain tops…….
I thought I should comment here. While it’s true that AlpineZone can’t necessarily “cancel” this event, I see little point in developing a Web site and running these forums if ultimately only ten or fifteen people will be participating. Communication between a group that small can occur via Email. As this forum has been the focal point of the planning thus far, use this opportunity to refer people here so this event can truly be a huge success that warrants a Web page and these forums. Again, this poll will run until mid-July, which will bring us closer to the event. I’m confident we’ll attain 48 “Yes” responses by then, but we need your help. Tell as many family members and friends as possible. Word of mouth can go a long way!
in reply to: Why not make it the top 50? #48598We should define pretty quickly whether we go with just the 48 4000’ers or expand it to cover other peaks. This will define the title of the event, mision statement, Web site, URL, etc…
in reply to: The Web Page #48563RJ – Fire off the latest HTML version of the list and I’ll start working on the Web page.
in reply to: The name of the event #48541Just wanted to mention that this new version of the forum software includes the ability to post polls so we should be able to use this new feature on future topics. How is everyone?
in reply to: When do we officially launch this event? #48593RJ asked this question in the name thread so I’m bumping this one up. Any thoughts?
in reply to: The name of the event #48540Okay – based on the responses to this thread and the results of the poll, the event will be called:
Flags on the 48: A September 11th Memorial Hike
Thread locked.
in reply to: The name of the event #48538Told you that script was lame. So lame it doesn’t work sometimes 🙄
in reply to: The name of the event #48536Oh – and I should mention this poll assumes the second part of the name will be “A September 11th Memorial Hike” (couldn’t fit it all)…
in reply to: The name of the event #48535Okay – well, I have a poll set up HERE for voting on this issue. It’s kind of a lame script. The problem with this system is we can only run one poll at a time, but it will get us by for now, until the new version of phpBB with poll capabilities is released – whenever that is.
Should we have a poll about how long to run the polls? 😮 For now – we’ll let this one run until the end of the month. Vote now!
