Obviously, feel free to use AZ as much as you all want to promote the event. Most of the regulars there already know about it or participate here, but there’s some new blood signing on from time to time. I’ll even stickify a post.

General Fare + BEER - Type of event (i.e. do we need entertainment?)
ERM, no. Maybe background muzak, but nothing fancy. - Time of day?
I think first folks arrive around 5 or 6 and stay until 10 or so. - Duration?
3-5 hours - Other requirements?
Hiker-Friendly
All three have responded favorably and are interested in helping. Is it safe to present these “requirements” as Stephen has outlined?
in reply to: Potential Ski Area Locations #49597I received another response looking for more info. Specifically:

I indicated this is a somewhat grassroots, non-profit event and it’s pretty loosely organized and that there will be most likely not be a budget to rent a hall. I suppose it would be very basic and certainly nothing fancy (we’re talking a number of smelly hikers, after all). I asked if there is anything we can do on a per head basis.
in reply to: Potential Ski Area Locations #49595I’ve received responses from all three already and they are all looking into it.

Seriously though. I think this is a big step for the event. It truly now has its own identity. On to promotion…

Better than the outhouse smell… 😉

What is the functionality loss?
Also, could you add the Quick Reply feature to this forum as well?

Log out of AZ and see what it looks like. It doesn’t display Who’s Online, avatars, or sigs when not logged in (or if you’re a search engine spider). It also changes the layout of the forums lists a bit…
Yes, I’ll add Quick Reply.

Post-Event Party
Not many places in the area seem large enough. Moosland was crowded, and larger group expected this year. Woodstock was over crowded, and group was segmented. Greg will follow up with ski resort contacts to see if one would be willing to host us.How many attendees should we expect? 50? 100? I would like to have a rough number to present to some of the ski area reps. Also, what’s needed here? Sit-down service? Bar? Or just a hall where we could BYOB and food?
I will contact Bretton Woods, Attitash, Cannon, and Loon. I think we agreed Wildcat is too remote. Thoughts?

My apologies to all, I had intended to make it to the meeting, but a sick 13 month old AND wife prevented me from leaving at the last minute.
No apologies needed. My daughter was sick with an intestinal virus (needed an IV for rehydration) during last year’s event and I missed it.
