in reply to: Resolution #49549
1280 width at work. 1024 width at home.
in reply to: Site Redesign/Registration forms #49503I’ll work on the de-squishing. The site is optimized for 800×600, but I think higher resolutions are more common now. I’ll aim for 1024×768.
in reply to: Agenda for get-together #49314Just a quick follow-up on the actual “meeting” agenda. I don’t want to get in the way of everyone swilling their brew, but we should have someone taking meeting “minutes” just so all our thoughts are organized. Stephen – will you bring the initial agenda outline for us to work from? Some of the items like the site redesign/registration system is in fact almost complete.
in reply to: Planning Meeting Registrations now open! #49407Thanks for claiming the sites Magic, Cal and pepsi. I know we threw around 5 PM as the official start time. Is this still the case?
in reply to: Site Redesign/Registration forms #49500If anyone is anxious to apply the new FOT48 template to the forum before the official site re-launch, feel free to change the Board Style from “subSilver” to “fot48” in your profile. It’ll probably be good to test it live to see if it renders okay for everybody.

I KNOW that I am looking forward to spending time recruiting and promoting rather than processing registrations. I’m sure Greg feels the same about updating the peaks list.
I think we’ve got a GREAT shot at 100%. Look how far we’ve come already:
1) Dedicated forums :argue:
2) Cleaner web design :flag:
3) Automated registrations :beer:You ain’t kidding. You’re the man, Stephen. Great job on the coding! We have come far. What else is there to do now? Hike, I guess! 💡

Nicely done! The new template is easier to navigate IMO and just seems to read better than the old one. The new logo at the top is also very eye catching. Any plans to make the front page photo rotate like the one on AZ?
Overall appearance has been brought ot the next level. Bravo! 8)
Thanks for the kind words, smitty. Obviously, the forums now have the official FOT48 Web colors. Once I go live with the new design, I’ll apply it to the forums as well.
The rotation photo is still a possibility, but probably not before 7/4. I do it on AZ by using my ad rotation software, but that’s a bit overkill for here. What I think would be great would be if we could resize and rotate the images from the Gallery, but that’ll be a bit tricky to get going and it may need custom programming. Stephen?! 😉
Any other comments on the new site design? Please be brutally honest. 🙂

Or if it’s all individual, I’ll bring some burgers and just point me to a grill.
This approach works for me.
in reply to: Site Redesign/Registration forms #49481How about adding an “Add to mailing list” checkbox so we can start building an opt-in contact list?
in reply to: Flag Upgrades #49537It will really depend. If I try to incorporate a backpacking trip into the Flags event like I did in 2002 (and planned to last year), I’ll stick with the 3×5. If I do it as a dayhike, I’ll try to rig something bigger.
in reply to: What beer are you bringing? #49533Heinkens.
in reply to: Assigning Peaks/Accessible Peaks #49465I think I like the first-come/first-served approach too. I think we’ve been pretty close the past two years. It’ll simply be a matter of spreading the word/more publicity…
in reply to: Press Release List #49458ABC’s Good Morning America mentioned the event last year. We should probably contact them ahead of time this year:

in reply to: Site Redesign/Registration forms #49472I’m all over this. Feel free to post some ideas here and I’ll implement…
