in reply to: Potential Ski Area Locations #49619
I finally heard back from the mountain manager and food manager and they are already booked for Sept 11, but otherwise would have helped us out. Oh well, see you at Mooseland.
in reply to: Potential Ski Area Locations #49618I am going to look into Cannon, I might have a little pull because of the ski club.
in reply to: Where do we go this year? #49526If we are going to a bar, Mooseland was far better than Woodstock Tavern, mostly because we were all in one room at Mooseland. If we give them a heads up, perhaps they could have an extra waitperson and/or bartender on though. Otherwise,It would be nice if a ski area was willing to open up the bar and outdoor grill and just pay as you go. Have a limited menu. Has anyone checked into Cannon Mt? If not, I am willing to look into it. Little more laid back, the deck is right in front of the bar along side the grill…what else can you ask for.
in reply to: Flags on the 48 Planning Get-together #49213You can count me in and I will spread the word…. 😀
in reply to: Flags on the 48 Patches #49111pretty cool idea about the patch. What about a small flag (9″ x 12″ or bigger) that we could have sticking out of packs and then tie onto the flagpole on the top…. More exposure maybe? I like the sounds of your buddies design Silentcal… let’s see it!
in reply to: I’m out. :( #48984Sorry to hear that you are out. Hope all goes well with your daughter! Like you said, the mountains will be there. We are all routing for you and your family. Take care.
Jaynein reply to: Mooseland Grill Tally #48931Analogic croo will not be there early, more prime rib for you! We are doing N Hancock instead of Field (my friend Paula from Londonderry team took it!) That’s OK Paula, you need the shorter hike! HA! 😛
ETA for Mooseland more like 6:30.
I can’t wait!
Jaynein reply to: Mooseland Grill Tally #48930The Analogic croo will be at the Moose ~ at least 2 and hopefully 4 or 5. We will be there early, around 5:00 😀 as we are doing Field, pretty close by. I can’t wait and I hope for a fabulous day all around! No speeding tickets for me this year!!!
We get first pickins on the prime rib…yummmmmmmm!
see y’all there!Last year I too put up a 9 x 5 foot flag and needed a big pole. I used 3 five foot sections of 2″ PVC coupled together w/ pvc couplings, duck tape AND I used a 2 foot long by 1/4 inch thick by 2″ wide aluminum stay at each of the 2 couplings for extra support. (The wind wanted to snap the PVC at that height.) I also drilled a couple holes for guy lines and we used lots of rocks to stabilize and support. Once it was up,,,,it stayed for 21/2 hrs out straight!! It was awesome, we were on Moosilauke. Good luck!
Jaynein reply to: Flags on the 48 – 2003??? #48793We would definetly be interested in doing it again. It was a very moving experience. 😛
Jaynein reply to: Mount Madison Movie #48770Greg, Nice job! You really get the feeling of that strong wind watching the pole bending and the flag out straight! We experienced the same on Moosilauke. I have a T1 connection at work so the mpg played nicely! Too bad it didn’t have sound 💡 Next camera….
