T-shirts are ordered. :flag:
I ordered 72 at a total of 9.87 a shirt. Total cost 710.00. If you remove one shirt from the mix and make it 71 the price per shirt is an even $10.00…that is what I am going to do. Design….well…that is a surprise.
Please order AFTER the event if you so choose. See previous post(s).
I also nominate Greg to receive the 72nd shirt. All in favor say I (I,I,I,I,I,I,I). The I’s have it! 😛
See you at the Mooseland. I’ll be there around 6-6:30pm.
PS Frodo….I got some smaller sizes as well…
Alright here’s the dilly-yo, wait a second, I’m home and not at the club. Here’s the scoop….although my kids I work with would be proud of my use of slang!
I’m going to get a bunch of T-Shirts done. 72 to be exact. Cost will be at cost and distribution will be at the Mooseland when my crew arrives.
WHEN I run out, I am happy to take orders via email the following week. Every time the order goes over 12 I will have them available in a week. At the Mooseland, sizes will range, but count on plenty of options. Especially XL, XXL and dare I say…XXXL?
The design(s) are much (exactly) like the patches Frodo got last year….and incorporate the mission statement. The one for last year. Sorry, that’s all I had on hand.
Truth be told I was doing T-shirts this year for distribution at the Mooseland and to avoid doubling up as it were, I can let it be known now. Damn it…it was going to be a surprise!! 😥
I would rather not take orders now…to some this would make some sense, but I have done this type of thing before…and to me at least…logistically…this is the way to go. Also input on design…while appreciated…in the interest of time constraints…well…believe me… you will be happy.
If anyone, and I do me anyone wants to take this on…I say “Go for it”. It is not in my nature to step on toes, go above my station or anything like that.
This event is very special to me as I am sure all of you. I have told this story before…My wife and I were in the backcountry of Olympia NP and did not find out about the tragedy till 3 full days after the fact.
Taking on logisics for T-shirts is the least I can do.
Peace.

No harm no foul…no anything really. Pretty light hearted on this board.
Now what’s your opinion on unleashed chipmunks? 😉
Doesn’t everyone have a T-Shirt guy?
I run a B&G club and have one…would be happy to get something together if there was a demand. Cost would be…minimal…like I said..he’s my T-Shirt guy.
I was planning to outdo the bandanas from last year…perhaps I can put an order together for about 60 shirts and see what happens at the bar. T-shirts would cost, at cost?
If anyone else wants to have at this…by all means. I have ordered 100’s of different t-shirts over the years…and would incorporate the FOTF design…in a nutshell…they will loook good and will be instant collectors items!
I can stop by his office today.
let me know.
in reply to: Summit Journal #49704In addtion to the flag, PVC, duct tape and summit journal,my crew will be hauling up a couple of bibles, legal documents and video equipment to make sure the sworn depositions are credible. 😉
I agree with MJ…I think something on the cover of the journal in “nice” language is sufficient.
in reply to: Where is everyone staying that weekend? #49745camping near greenleaf on Friday night…late Friday probably. I know a nice little spot down/up the Greenleaf trail.
Like MichaelJ…will be staying at a motel Saturday Night.
in reply to: Summit Journal #49698I think it needs to be clearly expressed that if people choose to write in these journals that those passages may/may not be reproduced on this website.
Although a wonderful idea some may not wish to have their thoughts shared with everyone on a website.
Again….small deal and probably as easy as saying to someone (written/oral) not to leave their last names?
Just some thoughts.
BTW…the one at the Mooseland was inspirational.
OK…w/o counting the event itself.
I look forward to you all buying me and my crew a round. And our crew returning the favor.
Yes…I know some of you feel bad about missing my crew last year, couldn’t make it to the Mooseland, had to bail at the last second….whatever.
For those who hike and can’t make it….I’m “in” with the Mooseland staff so send a PO, Money Order or pledge.
For those who have taken my above serious…I will buy you the first round…and we will discuss unleashed dogs on snowmobiles till one in the morning.
So I guess what I’m saying……
Can’t wait to be with you all!!!!!
in reply to: Posting the Event Announcement to Other Forums #49634Agreed.
By my count 7 peaks left, not including “reserved”. While awesome, it may prevent/discourage more people from particpating…especially to my knowledge, since the blurb has not gone out to a lot of sites yet.
Perhaps a standard “MORE HELPED APPRECIATED” (in a different color font) could be attached to the peak list for the crews that would enjoy meeting new people for this wonderful event? I also think that the “new” people’s name(s) should somehow be added to the peak list…people like it and are more committed if they see their names for some reason. They (different crews) can then communicate plans via email or PM.
I do believe there should be some level of communication between people who may be doing the same peak. It would be an interesting dilema if let’s say 4 different crews, not communicating, were to hike up a peak. That’s a lot of PVC and duct tape being carried! Plus… :argue: but I honestly don’t think that would happen.
Just some thoughts.
Peace.
in reply to: 2004 Flags on the 48 Has Arrived! #49588Everyone–
Looks awesome.
Stephen-
I signed my crew up for Lafayette (2nd year) but myself and one other will be available for “on call” if needed. I know the planning Committee “tabled” this item….but let me know what you need.
BTW…I know a different thread…but….get my crew eneough beer…and the “entertainment” will take care of itself! :flag:  :flag:
in reply to: Meeting Summary #49568Sounds like the Planning meeting was a success.
I would say that the Mooseland is adequate for our needs until proven otherwise. I was one of the late arrivals but do remember there being plenty of space. The more the merrier and if people have to stand to eat/drink (apps) I don’t see a problem. That backroom is pretty big. I would say 40-60 is a more reasonable estimate based on last years numbers. If the post-event gathering becomes bigger than I think we can revisit locations.
Better to have a proven, trusted site then some large hall with an unknown number set to come…makes it less inviting.
Wherever we go… the beer will be just as rewarding. Just my nickel. 😀
in reply to: Hancock Campground #49365Everyone….
Have a great time and be safe.
Look forward to hearing how it went.
Peace. :flag:
in reply to: Privacy Statement #495588) New people buy the first round of beer at all FOT48 post event gatherings. This is not subject to change or debate.
You can spruce up the “legalise” if you wish.
Seriously…looks good.
in reply to: On-Call Team #49463IMHO-
For logistic purposes, ‘On-Call” should not be part of the registration process. We want people to sign-up for a peak and having this as an option reduces this. It does not turn people away if the people don’t have it to begin with.
Here’s another dilema…for me anyways. I would like to be on the “On-call team” but also would like to register my “crew” for a peak. In other words, am willing to be OC, would do it the day of, by myself or 1 more member of my crew, but nice to know I can still go with my crew if all the peaks are covered. I know that didn’t make sense.
Ok….I need another coffee.
*&^% I wish I was able to make that meeting! 🙁
