in reply to: FOT48 New Format ? ? ? #57524
Another thing I’m not seeing is PM’s/messages anywhere. When a peak coordinator contacts the group is it all done by through our personal e-mail addresses?
Thanks’
Joein reply to: 2017 Q+A about signups #57327From the first topic in this discussion. Chris….” Weβre moving to a new format that requires you to be registered on the site in order to sign up.” This is a good thing IMO.
in reply to: Passaconaway #55762I’ll be there with my rig and as you said, we can make a decision at the trail-head as what course to take.
See all in the AM.
P.S. Don’t forget to bring an extra set of dry clothes. 8)
in reply to: Passaconaway #55760I have some concerns about the weather for tomorrow. Right up until the time we need to take the flags down, there’s up to a 70% chance of heavy rain. 8-9 hours being soaked to the bone is very possible. These are the numbers I’m getting off AMC online guide for the suggested route.
Totals
Distance 10.00 mi
Time 6 hr 38 min
Elev Gain +3264 ft
Elev Loss -3264 ft
Elev Change 0 ftPassaconaway Cut-Off after the junction with the Square Ledge Tr. will probably be a stream if the rain is heavy in the AM as forecast. Footing will be poor as it’s steep and rocky after that point.
I’m considering leaving my big rig at home and just bringing a small american flag and my “Never Forget” flag to place on the summit. That way if it’s really bad, we can head down quickly and or before 2 if it is really nasty. But the peak will at least be covered for some period of time.
Some input from the Peak Coordinator and others on this team is important at this point.
Thoughts people?

JustJoe, Please bring your rigging. Thanks, Mark Williamson
Will Do. See you then. :flag:
in reply to: Passaconaway #55752This is another shout-out to the peak coordinator for Passaconaway. I’ve been doing this for several years but was unable to grab my own peak do to lack of service where I was. I have a complete rig and so if you don’t, got you covered. This link shows what I have and can bring. I do plan on bringing my “Never Forget” flag.

Looking forward to it. I do plan on bringing my “Never Forget” flag.
in reply to: How to Post 2016 Photos #55734Thanks Chris, I did that. But when I log in it’s telling me the password’s wrong. Tried doing recover password but nothing.
in reply to: How to Post 2016 Photos #55732Tried using same login and password as last year. Not working. No password reset e-mail being sent either. π
in reply to: REVISED-Wildcat "D" Plan #55686I suggested to the hikers we meet at the Pinkham Notch Visitors Center and they park there vs the Glen Ellis Falls lot. A bit safer there. Meet time will be 8:30 at which time I’ll drive whom ever’s hiking to the WRT trail-head. I’ll be heading to Wildcat to ride the gondola. And vice versa at the end of the day.
in reply to: REVISED-Wildcat "D" Plan #55685I took a look at the crossing on 8/29 and it looked doable then. You’ll have 10′ poles to help. π
Unfortunately I will not be able to hike.
in reply to: REVISED-Wildcat "D" Plan #55683Sounds like a plan Matt, Thanks. See you and Mark on the 12th.

in reply to: 2012 Pre-hike notes. #55311No worries Jim. The forecast has been getting better over the coarse of the day. This for the general vicinity of the Moose.

Oh, I definitely agree. just thought I’d put that out there. It’ll be nice to see the flags straight out for 2 hours. :flag:
