I’m just thinking about recharging my camera. With my new lenses, I plan to take a LOT of pictures this year. The 500mm reflex lens should easily pick up flags from across the Pemi.

Does “our” area of the KOA have electricity?

I think the KOA is a great idea, but a really lousy location for a very large percentage of the Whites. BUT … for every northern/eastern peak hiker it excludes, it may bring back a Kanc peak hiker, who is not likely at all to drive north after the event.

So it’s a tough call, but in thinking about the geography, the KOA or the Woodstock Inn may actually exclude the fewest number of people.

There are folks who will want a sit-down meal and won’t come anyway. There are also folks who won’t have the means to keep food frozen/cold/etc. for the day of the hike before coming over.

I’m back online and yes, I’ll be there, arriving Friday late afternoon/evening, group hike Saturday, meeting Saturday night, either group hike or own thing Sunday.

I’ll take minutes again this year and send them out to everyone afterward.

I plan to be a part of both!

I think we can get a decent turnout if we really make it clear in the signups and email that there will be “x”, “y” and “z” there for food and beverages.

However … unless we can afford to cook for everyone for free, there are legal implications to providing food and drink, especially alcohol. Let’s definitely talk this up at the planning meeting.

I posted in the other thread, but May 20 works for me too, as does the KOA. Franconia Ridge would be fine, though if it’s not too wet and the blackflies aren’t out yet I might want to hit Vose Spur or Scar Ridge. 🙂

That date works for me as well. The only potential conflict is that the 21st is the BTS Ride for Research, but I’m not planning on riding this year so it would only be an issue for others.

I would definitely like to see it; if we could post it somewhere (even locked down to a few people) that would be great for me (as opposed to email).

Do I need to drag out my copy of EDT?

I have such a movie backlog: Serenity, the Were-Rabbit, Corpse Bride … too much time spent hiking!

Notepad? What about “vi” … 🙂

Thank you, Ken and hiker3791 and all the participants. No matter what we organize, it’s the people who do it who make it real.

Actually, I thought the Mooseland was warned every year and yet still acted completely unprepared for everyone to get there?

So the key here is to hike with someone who has done more summits, because that means more M&M’s 😀

Damn, having finished my 67 that’s going to be tough…
