in reply to: Peak Coordinators #51366
Eh?
The Peaks List does list the primary contact – where are you looking?
in reply to: Status on Accessable peaks? #51337Now’s the time to open them up to everyone.
I remember someone had an interest in Cannon, someone who couldn’t climb on their own. What happened with them? I thought they were going to take it?
in reply to: BONDCLIFF The Immaculate #51311Just make sure to get to Guyot early enough to get space on a platform or in the shelter, while not leaving poor Sarah behind on the ridge somewhere. 🙂
in reply to: THE DOCUMENTARY… #51309There should be a number of us staying at the Broken Branch KOA Campground in Woodstock, NH, on Saturday the 10th, and a bunch within a short distance who will be visiting (I hope!) during the day. That may be a great time to coordinate.
in reply to: Bondcliff suggestions #51326I always thought it would look awesome to hang a huge flag off Bondcliff; however, flag etiquette precludes having it touch the ground, and I would not want to desicrate the flag or offend anyone.
It’s not that hard to put a pole up. Look at the West Bond gallery – some PVC or electrical conduit makes a fine pole, and with guy lines strung out appropriately it won’t be under undue stress. It’s pretty easy to tie off rope with all that broken rock up there; for two of my tie points I just snared the rope under a small, heavy boulder and it held nicely.
in reply to: THE DOCUMENTARY… #51305D’oh! The evening of the 11th last week would have been perfect, since we were all there.
I’m not available at all for 15 days as I’ve got a trip to the Adirondacks folllowed by a trip to the Vineyard. 🙁in reply to: August 11: Camping Out #51128HUGE thanks to Jay and Terry for their hospitality!!!
It was great to see everyone!
And I have to say … we made out very lucky (well, maybe Jay didn’t at chess, but I digress…) because as I drove home I found that not too far north, the roads had been soaked by some pretty heavy rain.
🙂in reply to: August 11: Camping Out #51127I expect to leave work around 5:30 … given the current state of traffic on Rte 128, expect me 6:30/7:00.
in reply to: August 11: Camping Out #51124Slight change of plans for me …
I’ll be there a little after 6 (Rte 128 permitting) and will stay and hang out even fairly late into the night, but won’t be staying over. A load of issues just fell on my head including things about the car (not mechanical problems, just issues), and I will need to come back home Thursday night. Since it’s only a 30 to 45 minute drive home for me, it’s not a big deal.in reply to: August 11: Camping Out #51122Congrats and dang!
in reply to: August 11: Camping Out #51119Ah-hah! I found the directions. First post in the *other* August 11th thread. 🙂
Jay – any chance of two trees 10′ apart with nothing in the way between them? If so, I can use the hammock instead of a tent.
in reply to: August 11: Camping Out #51115D’oh! Sorry to hear it, Magic, but I wouldn’t want you to risk a breakdown on the highway, either.
Jay – have you posted times for arrival and directions and so forth yet? Should I have had dinner already or are we doing a group thing?
I will have flyers and cards to hand out.
in reply to: Where is everyone staying??? #51296I haven’t decided yet; I still don’t know where I’m hiking! 🙂
