in reply to: Mt Monadnock #55090
Excellent, thank you.
in reply to: South Twin #55103Thank you for writing our trip report and thanks to everyone for being a part of the hike! It was an extraordinary day. We had a great crew, terrific visitors up top, nice weather, happy dogs, and I think a powerful memorial & remembrance.
in reply to: Helicopter photos #55093We did not know beforehand, however efforts are being made to get information on them. It was wicked cool!
in reply to: Confirmation 2011 #55039I can personally confirm South Twin. From there, we saw North Twin, Galehead, Liberty, Garfield, West Bond, Bond, Hale, and … yes … Zealand!
Huge kudos to whoever did Zealand, we could see the flag easily with the naked eye!!!
in reply to: Mt. Galehead #55012You may see our S Twin group, we’ll be on trail about the same time. We’re a dog-friendly crew and will have some friendly dogs with us.
in reply to: Lafayette PLEASE!!!!! #55030Awesome – thanks for stepping up!
in reply to: Lafayette PLEASE!!!!! #55027I wish I had some information to share with you, but regrettably I do not. Neither Lafayette nor Lincoln have made contact.
In fact, the Lafayette trip leader is listed as a Lincoln participant. I didn’t catch that earlier.
Lincoln looks like a Scout group, unless they’re camping (like at Liberty Spring or the hut) there’s a good chance they’ll take the Old Bridle Path and you could catch them in the parking lot if you want to guess a time (AMC book time backwards from noon?).
in reply to: South Twin #54829Sorry to hear it; I was informed of your email yesterday and appreciate the effort to let us know. Best wishes to you and your family.
in reply to: Mt. Galehead #55010I’ll be on S Twin looking for your flag!
in reply to: Hurricane / Tropical Storm Katia #54969The most latest track has Katia missing New England entirely and way, way off over the northern Atlantic by Sunday.

The Tripoli Road is open between I-93 and Osceola Trailhead and Route 49 and Osceola campground.
in reply to: South Twin #54824We’ll have some novices with us, plenty of gear to be sorted out to people to help carry (hopefully someone brings baked goodies for the summit???), and about a 5.6 mile, 3200′ climb (apologies if that’s wrong, I’m going from memory). Combine all that and I come up with close to 4 hours to get there, plus a quick stop at the hut, plus we want the flag up for noon. I’m thinking that feet on trail 7-7:15am is desirable. That puts the time to leave the N Twin car spot at 6:45, given the slow drive from there to Gale River. Does this sound reasonable to participants?
