He-he, I hear you!
😀in reply to: Gallery & Front Page Photo issues #51735I’m still tuned to upload team Cabot.
Thank you Greg & Stephen!
in reply to: Officially "Unofficial" Post Trip Libations #51361Sorry that happened to you Trekman. I ordered a burger at about 6 and it took about 40 minutes to get to my table. From about 6-7 was when most of the hikers arrived, it sure was getting crowded with no empty chairs or table. Yet Stephen and Jen sat at our table around 7:15 and received their food in about 15 minutes. I hope you met most of the good folks that flew flags.
in reply to: A-10 flyby #51693Great shots Ryan and Jen.
The A-10 flew over Mt Cabot too. How wonderful!
in reply to: Officially "Unofficial" Post Trip Libations #51359The Mooseland get together was spectacular. It seemed that most of you were there having a blast. Great to talk to old friends and make new ones for 3 hours.
Several saw the aurora borealis early Sunday morning. Here is a link to see more of the show: http://www.spaceweather.com/aurora/gallery_01sep05_page4.htm
See you for the 2006 Flags planning meeting in the spring. Be well and happy trails!

in reply to: Here we go! #51682We’re off to camp in the Kilkenny tonight. Great sunny weather these next 2 days, nights in the lower 30’s. We should arrive at the Mooseland about 6:30.
Looking forward to meeting team Cabot 7:30 – 7:45 at the trailhead.
A flag on every summit. Good luck to all!!!
in reply to: KOA Broken Branch Sat 9/10 #51421Hopefully a simple mix-up and everything will be perfect, starting tomorrow. MJ, I read your name with your fine hiking group in the cannister log journal on Redington today. You too, Alpinista et al. A very serious cell tower+ on this summit is being constructed & will be in working order eventually.
See you soon my friends!
😀in reply to: KOA Broken Branch Sat 9/10 #51419Hey there gentle readers,
Great 4 days on this end in the 35 mile range, 3 days on the AT in Maine! Ahh, life is so good I waste it hiking every day! I wish there was a way to splint a day in 3! So many events to choose from this weekend. My FOT48 hiking buddies at the KOA. My hiking group at Unknown Pond just before the Horn and Mt Cabot. Or being with my lady sharing quality time. Yes, my choice is all 3, yet it will be with Sky and looking forward to it anxiously!
Hope to see you at the Mooseland Grill Sunday evening after 6:30. Life is good!
in reply to: Officially "Unofficial" Post Trip Libations #51350Some of team Cabot and I will be at the Mooseland Grill around 6 or 6:30pm. Jaytrek, we’ve just got to play a few more and perhaps have a few more!
Hope to see some of you then!
in reply to: KOA Broken Branch Sat 9/10 #51417It’s byo drink, food, firewood, and your grills. Unless there are generous souls out there!
Sky, Ghostdog & I won’t be able to make it Saturday night at the KOA. But I’ll be there for an impromptu gathering at the Mooseland Sunday evening. Looking forward to seeing many of you then!
in reply to: A generational thing #51541I may be the oldest. I’m the 2nd shortest — after ghostdog.
Still hiking strongly at 95 y/o!
Anyone else want to share their age?!
😀in reply to: Peak Coordinators #51378Under your profile tab, second from the bottom just above tha avatar setting setting is timezone. Correct it to read GMT – 4 Hours. Until Oct when it should set to – 5 hours.
in reply to: August 11: Camping Out #51114Suddenly have car problems so it doesn’t seem like I can make it.
Looking for a miracle!
As a four season hiker to Isolation throughout the years, and 3 attempts to summit just this winter (due to deep, unbroken snow ), I agree that Glen Boulder to Rocky Branch is the fastest & nicest route with a car spot. As long as one is not afraid of the small climb up to Glen Boulder.
A little bit of climbing, lots of views, trees, enjoyment, a wonderful day, and usually a wet Rocky Branch trail out. It doesn’t get much better than this!
in reply to: Highland Center update??? #50673*Anyplace* would be overwhelmed if more than 100 people arrived in about an hour. At the planning meeting in May we decided on the the Woodstock KOA as a camping and pre event party on Saturday night. Nice 2 acre+ private “island” waiting just for us.
