in reply to: "Reserved" Status in Q&A #49593
I did write to the hiker we discussed during the planning meeting. He replied in a month or so he’ll see if he can comfortably make the car ride to the Whites. Also suggested was that his family and friends can contribute to the flags event. He did say he enjoyed participating in past years.
in reply to: Potential Ski Area Locations #49609I have a feeling we’ll attend one of the two places we went to previously. I did’t expect these ski area prices to be as competative as Woodstock Inn or the Mooseland.
Any other thoughts?!
in reply to: Limiting signups #49672I completely agree and wonder why myself.
I remember at the Flags meeting the first person who signed up is responsible for the flag and pole. That is so groups don’t have to bring the flagpole to the summit.
However, if the sign-up person is a no-show and yes that happened previously, I feel a couple of groups that signed up for a summit would increase the likelyhood of a flag being flown.
Any other opinions?!
in reply to: Hancock Campground #49372On Friday night, MichaelJ, SilentCal, Vicki, Tim, Irene, Stephen (The8re) Joshua (aka SonicBoom) Ghostdog and I shared two camping sites.
On Saturday night, Little Bear, MilesMtn, and Escendo visited, then Greg joined us for the night, while we brainstormed to our hearts content the Flags on the 48 agenda.
Each night the campfire remained humongous. Firewood was provided by SilentCal, with Pepsi sharing even more on Saturday night.
Two days of great camping, talking, and discussion, while we hiked to our heart’s content during each day!
in reply to: I’m not a hiker but I want to help out. #49671I did write to someone who did join us in the year’s past. Hope he, his family and friends wish to participate this year. What a boost to the Flags event and to the entire hiking community!
in reply to: Potential Ski Area Locations #49607Hey there Little Bear
🙂Yes of course, we are the entertainment!
in reply to: Where do we go this year? #49520The Moats are great for hiking. Anyone wish to do the loop soon?
For eats and drinks, my vote is for the Mooseland Grill, or the Woodstock Inn.
Any more ideas?!

Life is good!in reply to: Hancock Campground #49360I’ll pin a small sign on the right side kiosk with a small sign that reads “A-Z sites #’s.” I’ll also pin an A-Z over the site numbers.

See you there!in reply to: Flyers and handouts? #49451Yes, the time and place we agreed on.
See you good folks!
in reply to: Hancock Campground #49357I’ll be around late Saturday. There is the large P&C grocery store about 4 miles away. I’m hoping that Bill & Bob’s Roast Beef is open to have one of their big sandwiches.
SilentCal will be bringing his grill for us to use.
in reply to: Hancock Campground #493548 people, 2 vehicles per site.
We can park extra vehicles at the 2 large lots at the Lincoln Woods Trailhead. It’s only about a half mile away.
in reply to: Hancock Campground #49352Ok, it sounds you have more than enough wood so I’ll not bring a half trunk full. Those tote boxes you have hold plenty of wood.
