Great Job everyone. I can’t believe it’s been ten years.
Never Forget :flag:in reply to: Sat night 9/10/2011 #54952Going up Friday and staying at Sugarloaf 1 canmpground through Monday.
in reply to: Mt Liberty #54036After my most recent workout I have decided I can’t make it to the top. However, I intend on climbing 1368 feet in honor of the height of the World Trade Center which should put me somewhere around 2900 feet, look for me there. :flag:
in reply to: Mt Liberty #54033I’ll see you on the trail somewhere, hopefully I’ll get to the top before the flag comes down. If not, have a great day and I’ll see you on the way down! :flag:
in reply to: Mt Liberty #54028We’ll be hiking Liberty this year, with a 7AM start time and a Noon (or a little later) time arrival (we are very slow). Look forward to seeing you all up there.
in reply to: Eisenhower #53763Hey Brian
Our group of 8 will be joining you at the top. Let’s hope for good weather. :flag:
We will be going via Edmunds as well, not a lot of experienced hikers, but have done the flags the last few years. I’ll be leaving at 7AM , so when you pass me, say hello! 😆in reply to: Read off the Names #53818I like the idea, and would make sure ours get done if we can agree on it.
in reply to: A real American hero! #53813A great moment.
in reply to: Wildcat "D" #53196Glad to see you made it back SK, we were talking about you on Jackson this year. I didn’t realize you were going up. Congrats on being back on the mountain, and I hope you can make it up on your own soon.
I think the best idea is to meet at the top no later than 11:30, I am usually book time times 2, seriously. We have a few different levels of hikers, some this is their first time so we’re not sure how everyone will do, and a lot depends on the weather also. My brother is a strong hiker and will be carrying the essentials for raising the flag. So, even if I get there in time to take it down we’ll be ok!
Gram, definately bring the journal, I would like to see everyones thoughts as they come through. Hopefully, we will once again have great weather, I know the company will be great regardless. :flag: :flag:Chip – Gram,
Gram, it will be good to see you this year too. We’ll miss Matthew, he was a trooper, can you still bring the Cheerios?
Chip, if you want we can bring the same rig and flag we brought last year. I have a 16′ expandable pole and a 6×9 military coffin flag that was used at my fathers funeral. It came out for the first time last year in 20 years and it looked great.
Let us know, we still have some time. :flag:
Check out the pictures from Pierce last year.
in reply to: FREE flag pole #52353I still like the idea of tieing the flag to a helium balloon for Owls head. If anyone can get helium tank to Owls head it has to be SJ. :flag:
