The tower is barricaded now and you can’t reach the platform. I suppose you could lash a pole up the side of the platform.
Puck- Is there a cut-off date in which you need to know by?
No not really…last minute is fine. However, I put the idea out to some friends of just nabbing it now so you don’t have to worry about it…I will keep youposted. But it will be covered.
in reply to: 2009 Signup Status #54244I’ll pick this one up if there are no other takers.
In the past have people lashed the flagpole to the tower platform?

yes he came in for the event. We drove up from CT Sat am.All that driving for six hours of hiking. It is the memorial that makes it worth the trip. Ken aren’t you a long distance hiker trying to get 20+ miles per trip? BTW it was great to have met you Sat night. Are you hitting the CT blue trails soon?

Great job Puck!
We could see your flag from Garfield with the naked eye.Peace,
Bill :flag:Can’t take credit for that flag. I was also very impressed by it. The flag and pole was brought by Trekman and Dirt.
We were able to see yours on Garefield.
We are bound to run into each other.

It was a great experience, folding a flag in an oncoming storm. We waited just off the mountain in the trees until 2:00 for my sister’s family. They almost made it to the peak.SherpJohn
Sorry about the keyboards. SOmeone described as “squeezing seals” My brother in law was responsible for those. Out of the cacophony I did hear a melody or two.in reply to: Post Gathering at KOA – what to bring? #53080@chip wrote:

I have stayed there twice, at last year’s Flag event and then again during the summer. Both times they were helpfull and friendly. However, at last year’s flag event they seemed festive. It made check in a pleasure.
Where are you staying this year ?
Chip
We will be at the KOA Sat night. My sister and crew will also join us…She got bit by the 48 bug and thought that this would be a great way to start it off.Hope to see you there.

Also, we are staying at the KAO again this year.
Thanks guys…I am surprised after two years that this post is not burried in the deep, dark, dusty archives.
