One week in and we only have three peaks that need adopters.

in reply to: Signup day 2010 #54470Hang on folks, there seems to be a glitch
Consider it reserved. I’ll do what I can to make it happen. If the weather cooperates, Your aunt and your group should be able to see some other flags from nearby peaks.
We are VERY glad to be able to help out. We reserve these three peaks for just this type of circumstance.
Welcome Aboard! :flag:

in reply to: The first FOT48 #54411It took a great deal many little steps to get to where the event is today. The first year of the event(2002), we got about 38-40 peaks covered for the year and needed the whole summer just to fill those slots. Now, on our sign-up day, we get 35-40 peaks signed up for within the first hour. We do still run into some snafus along the way but for a total volunteer effort, I’m quite pleased with the results.
in reply to: The first FOT48 #54409Nice to hear from you, backcountryexplorer. If you have photo’s please post them.
The original group, or at least as many as we could get, would be a nice touch for the 10th anniversary on Liberty.

in reply to: Anyone have a successful peak count yet? #54385Got the final confirmation today! All 48 were covered this year! :flag: :flag: :flag:
in reply to: Anyone have a successful peak count yet? #54384Lafayette confirmed through the 2009 media file. Nice article on the scouts!
Waumbek, they have a picture now in the gallery.
That leaves Passaconaway. I’ve sent the gentleman a pm through VFTT.
in reply to: Anyone have a successful peak count yet? #54382Reading South Twin’s Trip report, they met up with the hikers for North Twin so we can check that off.
in reply to: 2010: Dates to remember #54395By a weekend event, it could be any number of things. I’d actually like to see a mass gathering on the Saturday night at a campground. Personally, I never get the chance to thank about 50% of the people that take part. I’d like to correct that. Then again, some folks may want to fly flags on Saturday and Sunday.
Brian actually had a great idea that we talked about on our last hike. Mt. Liberty should get a good sized flag up for the whole weekend. From Saturday morning until Monday Morning.
But it’s still a long ways off…..
in reply to: Anyone have a successful peak count yet? #54379Which peaks are we missing now? I can get on this when I get home. But I have to say we are ahead of years past. Checking VFTT trip reports might help out. That’s how I’ve confirmed a bunch in the past.
in reply to: Thank you. #54360Thanks Buddy, I owe you a case of Moxie.
