in reply to: how do you become the primary contact for a peak? #54279
You become the Primary for the peak by being the first person to sign up for it. You are responsible for getting the Flag to the summit by noon on the day of the event. We ask that you do take pictures and upload them to the gallery for that year. Anyone can upload photos, you do not need to be the primary hiker.
in reply to: Wooded Summits #54268I’d suggest checking the gallery from past years to see what other people have done and then you can figure out what you can do. The gallery can be accessed from one of the tabs on the left.
Personally, I’d try to get it above the trees. But that’s just me and I usually have a large group hiking with me and we split up the gear.
in reply to: 2009 Signup Status #54238In 12 hours, we have 43 peaks claimed.
We have had groups inquire about Cannon and Wildcat D and when we open those peaks in about a week, they will be accounted for. Washington is unaccounted for as are South Carter, South Hancock, Wildcat A and Zealand.
Outstanding!
in reply to: Should you have a problem with signups. #54253Yep, Chris is working on fixing the problem. It may take some time to fix.
in reply to: 2009 Signup Status #54237Corrections have been made and 40 in two hours!
I’m surprised but very happy at the response.
in reply to: 2009 Signup Status #54233Nice to see a lot of people waiting for the word “GO”!

in reply to: Missing 2008 pics #54185Odd, Looks like there is an error of some kind. It’s happened before and it usually gets fixed when Chris does an update. I’ll let him know about it the next time I see him.
in reply to: Missing 2008 pics #54183Cabot and South Carter remain. I have confirmation from the Peak Coordinator on South Carter that a flag did indeed fly and pics will be up soon. Cabot is the lone peak unaccounted for. I’m working on it.
in reply to: Missing 2008 pics #54182Missing Six:
Cabot
South Carter
Passaconaway
Waumbek
Whiteface
ZealandI’ll be contacting the PC’s this week to get some type of confirmation.
in reply to: Owl’s Head #54164I guess we can say you were the MVP of the event this year for grabbing Owl’s Head at the last minute. Many Many Thanks!! :flag:
in reply to: East Osceola #54175Just curious but the event was this past Saturday on the 13th and not the 20th.
McRat who was on Osceola confirmed to me at the KOA that a flag was present on East Osceola however.
in reply to: The preliminary word….. #54130Awesome Job everyone! Keep the pics coming!!! :flag:
Could not ask for a better day weather-wise.
Super huge thanks to those that took peaks to make up for cancellations. Jaytrek is the hero for grabbing Owl’s Head at the last minute. His words “you can’t have 47 out of 48. I’ll go” In a nutshell, that’s the event. :flag:
in reply to: The Sun Chronicle story #54125Thanks for the link! :flag:
in reply to: Flag at the Old Man #53191Saw it yesterday and had a smile from ear to ear. Well Done!
