Thanks for setting this up Jaytrek!
It’s really a good time and a chance to meet others that participate in the event. The KOA is a very clean and cozy campground. The showers are really great after a long hike!
I suggest trying out your design in your backyard first. Hopefully you get some good breezes to test it out. On Jackson, you’ll find some rocks around to help anchor your pole, so that should not be too much of a problem. Your flags weight is crucial too. It doesn’t seem like much, but flapping in the wind during a really good breeze will certainly test your pole design. The Gallery from years past has several great ideas that people use. Check them out.

in reply to: Planning meeting notes #53650I figured once I saw the mass groupings of hikers that the counter function would be not be too accurate. Next year, we can have something in the signup that deals with groups and how many hikers in the group. If it’s too tricky to do now, then no problem, there is always next year.
I would like to see though a total peaks covered counter.

in reply to: Jefferson 2007 #53668Welcome Hikerdd, Since I don’t hike in winter much I doubt that was me you met. But it’s great to have you aboard. The other hikers registered as of now are part of my group. We are going to have a grand time.
in reply to: Woodstock KOA, okay ? #53725I won’t be staying there, but I will most certainly stop by after the hike and maybe pop in the night before. Some of my group may be staying there as well.

in reply to: 2007 Planning Meeting #53635And I believe we were up to 30 peaks around 9:00 p.m. that night. Having more than one peak in mind is a good idea but sharing a peak with others is just as fun.
