I’d rather aim for the weekend between Mother’s day and Memorial Day. That’s the weekend we’ve had it for the past three years. Moving into June might crimp up the KOA. We’ve pretty close to being the only campers at that time of the year. Maybe, just maybe, this will be the first year with no tarps!

I do not know exactly when the seminar will get over. We usually start the meeting around seven. If the seminar gets out by six, I should be able to make it to the KOA no later than 7:15. That’s my plan. If the seminar takes longer, I’ll be late but I do plan on making a showing.

May 12th works for me but isn’t that Mother’s day weekend. Any other ideas? I assume we’ll try and stay at the KOA again.

Filling last minute cancelations is always a concern. Thankfully the last couple of years, people have stepped forward and helped out the cause. The first couple of years we had trouble with this but I think that the event has recieved more exposure across the hiking boards than it ever has.

Cancellation is one of the Q+A questions. It’s a little vague on what to actually do but we are in the process of tweaking the Q+A as a whole to answer this and a few other questions that have popped up over the years. Not everyone has the time to go through the forums to find answers and the quick reference of the Q+A is what we hope will keep everyone on the same page.

Outstanding! All Summits now have photos from them this year. While we have covered all 48 for three years now, this is the first year we have pictures from all 48. Thank you to everyone that has made this possible!

Actually, I do believe under the victims link page that we posted, the website above is listed somewhere under the links section on that page.

Maybe we should add this website to our links page???

I’ve visited the site before. It’s really nice to see how other people from all states choose to remember.

I’ll post my pic when I get home.

Don’t know who it is John. It’s a really nice gesture though. I suppose it’s someone who just wants to remain nameless. Nothing wrong with that.

Nice to have met at Lakes the previous Sunday night. What are the chances?

                      Awesome Job!

in reply to: North Twin #52553

Start time will be 7:45 at the North Twin Trailhead. We’ve got a good group or seven going and all are welcome to join us.

I want everyone to know that your safety comes first! Use that judgement accordingly.

I’ve heard of showers later in the day. Hopefully they will hold off until after the event.

Offical Policy: We were to have the event rain or shine. In the case of tropical weather (hurricanes) coming up the coast, we would cancel the event. In the event that thunderstorms are present, please, your safety comes first, GET OFF THE MOUNTAIN. If you feel uncomfortable with the weather at the summit, it is okay to leave early. I’d rather see 48 flags fly for 2 minutes and have everyone be okay then have 48 flags fly for two hours and people get injured. That’s not what this event is about.

Many Thanks to Pilgrim! Really special thanks to my old friend friend from Mt. Cannon, MARI.

It’s awesome to have some great volunteers like you guys! :flag:

Infared images of the Tropics show nothing really progressing in terms of tropical storm formation. I’m very pleased to see that. Advanced weather forecasts look good too. But being New England, we’ll probaly have to wait until Event day to know for sure 😀 .
