in reply to: Stupid "Reserved" question #49862
West Bond is now open. I do believe that Washington will be covered, but I have no idea for Wildcat D and Cannon. So as far as I know we have three peaks in need of coverage
West Bond
Wildcat D
CannonMaybe Washington.
in reply to: Stephen WHO? #49888Trying to figure out how to insert the Final Jeopardy tune in here……..Hey Stephen you out there??????
in reply to: Summit Signs #49734No problems here!
in reply to: Question on Participation #49804I’ll get and post the information you need CT319. Several other hikers have expressed interest in having others join their party. The folks on Garfield, Liberty, Moriah and Monroe, have indicated before that they are open to those who wish to join up. I will contact the Moosilauke group and see if it’s alright.
More to follow…in reply to: Perfect weather for 9/11 #49939I wonder if the long range forecasts were going to call for a not very warm summer. I can’t remember the last time that the temperatures stayed fairly mild for most of the summer. I’ll be happy with even a cloudy day as long as it does not pour. Hiking above treeline in the driving rain is never fun.
in reply to: How long do your pictures take…. #49947hmm. I’m not really sure. I’ll be away until the 20th, So I won’t have access to my PC. But if i have a rainy day between the 11th and 20th maybe I’ll go to the library and send them from there.
in reply to: Stephen WHO? #49886So did you guys win???
An update on the info packets—> Due to the fact that I’m computer challenged, I decided to do them the old fashioned way, by the US Postal Brigade. Since we got such a great response, I’m going to scale back what is being sent out. As it stands I have 29 packets going out early next week. If you have the unfortunate pleasure of knowing me, your not likely to get one. Those who were at the Hancock campground and those that I personally know, will be excluded. So if you put an address down during signups, expect to see some of my boring prose in the next week. :flag:
in reply to: Joining a team #49883I know who is doing Osceola and I’ll send them an e-mail myself to see if you could hook up with them. Tim and Vickie are some really fun characters and I don’t think they would mind one bit. Give me a day or two and I’ll have a solid answer for you.
in reply to: Month to Go #49875I feel the same way. Anyone know of where we can get 30 day advance weather forecasts? Oops I forgot. This is New England. Our forecasters can’t even get tomorrow right. Let’s hope for a nice day!
in reply to: I want to do this! #49879There may be some peaks that will need to get coverage. The Reserved Mountains will open up to signups if no party has claimed them yet. I believe that there will be a cancelation on a relalativly easy peak soon, but I am just waiting for conformation on it. I would suggest checking back in a few days for an open peak. If you’d rather join a group, you can choose from the folks above and/or anyone else that posts that they would like company on their hike. I’ll be on Mt Monroe and the more the merrier :flag:
Thanks for checking us out LiLLinz82 :flag:
in reply to: Sunday Hike September 12th #49870Depends. Will there be any cold beers in it? 🙄
in reply to: Stupid "Reserved" question #49861Take your time Stephen. We’ll hold up for fort until you get the kinks out. I do believe that one of the summits will be done by some veterans liked we had hoped. As for the others, I figure the sooner we open them up to sign-ups the better. Has anyone posted on any other boards yet about the event?
in reply to: Summit Signs #49729I plan on raising a Flag in the Whites every September 11th for as long as I am physically able to do so. We all have different reasons for participation and why we chose this particular way to honor those lost. The people that do the hiking make this event. From the monsterous flag displays on the Franconia Ridge and Presidentals to the small flag displays on the lesser known peaks, everyone who takes part is noble and sincere in the effort to memorialize this event and keep it going strong. So all Flagbearers, not just the ones mentioned in Frodo’s post, take a bow, I salute you!
