in reply to: Resolution #49552
1024 x 768 ask me anything more and I have to get my little brother over here to explain to me what your asking 🙄
in reply to: Privacy Statement #49561That works. Having this privacy issue taken care of will be helpful for those who wish for anonomity. plus nobody likes their e-mail address out there in the open.
in reply to: Site Redesign/Registration forms #49499Weekend weather looks okay. Friday has some scattered thunderstorms but Saturday and Sunday look to be fine days for hiking and camping. Nights will get into the high 40’s. No big deal!
You need a smiley that takes his hat off. Stephen and Greg did a remarkable job. I think 100% is attainable. With everyone finally face to face and brainstorming over beers and burgers, how can we go wrong? :flag: :flag:
in reply to: Planning Meeting Registrations now open! #49405I believe that’s the plan. After we claim the sites and setup, I am thinking of doing a shorter hike. Then resting in my hammock until people start arriving. I have a 16 x 20 tarp to bring along too. Intellicast figures for some scattered showers over the weekend.
in reply to: Planning Meeting Registrations now open! #49403Pepsi, – MtnMagic and myself will arrive at the campground kiosk around 9 am. Hopefully we can all get some sites close to each other.
in reply to: Site Redesign/Registration forms #49486works good!
in reply to: Hancock Campground #49358Anyone is free to use my grill, I was thinking of firing up some burgers on Saturday night for all to enjoy. Cold beer, burgers and campfires, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh :flag:
in reply to: Flyers and handouts? #49450:flag: Just wondering if we should have some things set up for the meeting. Leaving something at the Mountain Wanderer would be ideal. see everyonethis weekend.
in reply to: Site Redesign/Registration forms #49482Greg’s idea is a good one. perhaps this can be used for a newsletter down the road or for just general announcements.
in reply to: Hancock Campground #49351I don’t think we will be bothered past 10:00 as long as we keep the noise down and fires not overly bright. There were some more private sites than others and we’ll get there early on Friday to claim some. Just how many do you think we will need. I’m thinking two sites should be able to hold all of us. Magic – I can bring two of those totes full of the wood that I had plus another one of regular firewood. I think we will have more than enough wood. I’ll also bring a rather large cooler for all of our frosty beverages… :flag:
in reply to: Hancock Campground #49347Magic and I scouted the campground out over the weekend. As you enter the campground the road forks. On the right hand fork is a kiosk that I can leave a message to everyone attending to let them know which sites we have reserved for us. There are nice sites by the river and some nice sites just beyond the kiosk. We’ll try to get something nearby to the toilets. I plan on bringing my Coleman grill-to-go and several totes of wood to burn. Anyone is more than welcome to use the grill.
in reply to: Press Releases #49510The outline sounds good. Should the event history be updated at all? We needs to show the web address for the gallery and forums. That could really kick participation into gear.
in reply to: On-Call Team #49462This could cut both ways. By limiting who can be on the “on-call” team you can turn people away. By letting anyone do it, we can run the risk of the signee backing out if they get a peak they don’t want. Tough call. I would say previous participants can only be on the “on-call” team. that way we can ensure that the peak gets covered. I would sign up for this but Cathie would punch my lights out if I tell her on September 10th “Oh by the way we got Owl’s Head tomorrow”.
On-Call sign ons should get free beer at the post trip meeting :flag: :flag:
in reply to: Flag Upgrades #49538I’m keeping the same flag and always will. I keep it in a case on our fireplace and take it out only for this occasion. Now, the flagpole may change now that I don’t have a summit with a tower to lash it to anymore……. :flag:
in reply to: Assigning Peaks/Accessible Peaks #49469The less boundaries and rules we have about signing up, the better. Too many rules can turn people off and we are really starting to build a nice little community group here. Once sign-up opens, I think you’ll see about half the peaks go in the first two weeks, then the trickle down effect. And hopefully FULL COVERAGE!
