in reply to: What beer are you bringing? #49532
Molson Golden of course with plenty to go around.
in reply to: Site Redesign/Registration forms #49475That works. Plus it would help if we decide to send an e-mail thank-you to everyone
in reply to: Where do we go this year? #49515We retired to the Woodstock Inn in Lincoln two years ago and the Mooseland Grill last year. People are coming from many different directions and at all different times so I would tend to suggest something in the Twin Mountain area. Also we should think of a group photo time. Some folks left before we took the photo and some arrived after. I would be nice to get as many people as we could this time.
in reply to: Site Redesign/Registration forms #49473I agreed with hiding people’s email address. But how about a question on the sign-up sheet asking if they would like to be e-mailed with a reminder for next year. Then we could save the addresses, and two weeks before sign-ups open drop a note to everyone reminding them of signups. Not everyone goes to the site and takes part and this would help us with reaching those hikers.
Other than that, I can’t think of anything else that we have not done before.
in reply to: Press Releases #49508I would suggest getting quotes from a few people as to WHY they are doing this for the press release. Personal stories are great reads.
in reply to: Agenda for get-together #49313Magic and I will try to get some big sites. While the board shows nine people so far, I think we may have some folks surprise us for the meeting. No Problem with that. We’ve had great success over the doing this over the Internet and I don’t think the meeting will be all that long. Sure we have a bit to disscuss but It’s about something we all enjoy and care about so I’m sure time will fly.
Just sit me down next to my cooler of Molsons…….. :flag:in reply to: Assigning Peaks/Accessible Peaks #49464Seeing as Cannon and Wildcat are both ski areas, maybe the skiing half of the Alpinezone board could help us out. What better way to plan a weekend of skiing for the coming winter months, than with other posters from the site.
I think the first-come/first serve basis is alright. I’m sure many folks have already kicked around an idea in their head as to what you are going to do this year. Granted many of the popular peaks with nice views will go first but that’s why we have sign-ups. I would hope that some of the easier summits would be saved for the scout groups and outdoors groups that help out. It would be nice to have a group of local veterans take a flag up Washington.
in reply to: Agenda for get-together #49304I’m sure we’ll be constantly kicking ideas around all weekend. If it’s really nice out saturday, I’d like to hike and then get back to the campground by five and start the main focus meeting. Sound okay?
in reply to: Planning Meeting Registrations now open! #49390I’m sure later in the night we’ll all be by the campfire swapping stories and ideas still. I’m planning on bringing my grill and some burgers and dogs to enjoy. Some other flagbearers have asked me to keep notes and I’ll be happy to share. Looks like we’ll get a good turnout :flag: :flag: :flag:
in reply to: Member Rankings #49434I like that idea. It’s flag related. Works for me
in reply to: Member Rankings #49431How about people who have participated before have their quote look like this
in reply to: Member Rankings #49427Jaytrek’s idea is a good one. How about a Flag smiley under your name for each year you took part. If that can’t be worked out out I guess the flags being shaded in would be nice. Also if we choose to have coordinators, that should also be shown to know who is who.
Zealot ranking would probaly turn me into a terrorist down the road…..ya never know…..
in reply to: The NEW FOT48 home #49420Wow! 😮
I love the new design. It is much more organized and will make the exact topic you seek easier to find.
From every mountain top 48 of 48 this year!

in reply to: Flags on the 48 Web site Overhaul #49415Most of the trip reports are located in the forum section. How about putting a “trip report” or “hikers reviews” type of link on the front page so people could read about others experiences and a trips? This could be where we all mention the great feedback that we recieve from passers-by and the good times shared.
in reply to: Flags on the 48 Web site Overhaul #49412You’d have to have the firemen raising the flag photo for sure. That’s the most inspiring picture of them all in terms of raising flags. I also think we should include the Mooseland Grill photo as well as some from the upcoming planning meeting. These photos would give a better sense of comaderie and inspiration for what we are doing.
