in reply to: Enhancing the honor our flag brings to FOT48 #55233
Well I cheated with my flag. Someone brought it up the tram and Cannon’s tower made the perfect flagpole. I could probaly only get away with that on Carrigain for actually flying it. But who knows. For the big anniversarys (15, 20 and 25) I would love to try and fly it on Liberty. With enough PVC and and bunch of crazy yahoos, we could pull it off.
in reply to: Enhancing the honor our flag brings to FOT48 #55230Just how big is it??
I’ll admit, I’m a little proud of my record last year, but I’d be pretty happy if it fell. :flag:
in reply to: Music on Monroe! #55195Certainly one of the most unique summit memorials that we have.
This is the “hidden gem” of the event. :flag:

in reply to: 2012 Signups #55147Signups are a week away.
A couple things to rememember.
The toughest problem that we deal with with signups is persons signing up for multiple peaks. This occurs usually when someone does not get the peak they want and they “jump” to another peak. What this does on the signups end is that it creates a domino effect of jumping and it takes several days to figure out who is going where. The event has been so successful in recent years that several peaks now have multiple flags. This is 100% okay and we encourage groups to work together to help each other out.
THEREFORE: PLEASE ONLY SIGN UP ONCE FOR ANY PEAK.

…I didn’t need him killing himself. ANd I tell ya, that flag had to weigh a good 40 pounds…so add that to the rest of a regular pack load….yikes!!!! 😀
Brian
I saw him carry at least 75lbs to the Fool Scouts Ball
and you then saw me moaning and groaning the rest of my time there. Actually, Brian and I were toying with the idea of draping it off Bondcliff next year. Won’t happen though. I may keep it for future Cannon trips.
