My buddy just bailed on me, so I’m looking for a spot still.

in reply to: August 11: Camping Out #51110Hey, just an update.
My softball team is 1-1 in the semifinals. Last game tomorrow determines who goes on and who goes home.
Obviously if we lose, I suddenly become available for the 11th. if we win, we have another 2 out of 3 series for the finals that week, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
If enough folks camp out, maybe I’ll drive down Friday morning and catch up with some of you.

I am down for for Osceola there is also the CT Trampers who are well equiped (Flag, pole etc) veterans of the event. If nobody takes E Osceola my son, Gorpburb and I could cover it if there are no takers.
Think of it; a two hour vigil on a woodedpeak with a flag and my son….
You may find people actually stop on E. Osceola for a bit rather than moving right on to Osceola.

Any word on the fourth boy scout troop, Stephen???
Not going to make it. Their first organized meeting of the year isn’t until Sept. 8. But they are going to work on it for next year.
However, their contact has signed up to take Willey, so they will be indirectly involved. 🙂

If I remember correctly, the tank weighs in betwen 13 and 18 lbs. Bring a frame 😉

in reply to: Wow, 3/4 of the way already #51035I had an idea for Owl’s Head last year… I was thiking of hiking in one of those small helium tanks that you can get at a party store, then floating some kind of flag on some balloons.
Gee, I’m sure glad I didn’t do Owl’s Head last year…

I can’t believe nobody’s taken Carrigain yet! I would have expected that to be one of the first.
I hadn’t noticed it either when I signed up.
I asked Stephen if I could move. He approved. 😉

Stephen really deserves a couple cold for his work with the site. He basically took our ideas from the planning notes minutes and made it happen exactly the way we wanted it to be presented. I’m sure it’s not an easy task and he volunteered to do it. Hats off to the man!
I totally concur! Fantastic job Stephen!
It took a lot of Fuzzy Navels (OJ & Peach Schnapps) to get me through the weekend, but we are here. The work comes as we hike up and down on 9/11. It’s ultimately you, the participants who make this happen.

I have a group on my peak that registered as one seperate entity. Ihave been in touch with the leader (looking forward to meeting him anh hais group). They are 8, me and my son (Gorpburp) makes ten. How should this be reflected on the roster?
They should register as individuals, so we can have a better count. I have sent them an e-mail requesting as such.
