Great!
To Glen Filmore — I just received a message from Brian informing me that you will be joining us. He gave me your cell phone, but as it’s the night before the hike I won’t try calling for fear of waking you.
We will be on Tuckerman’s bright and early, for I am not sure how long it will take us to get to the top. Feel free to meet us at the top or do a later start time and catch up.
See you tomorrow,
Trishin reply to: Washington #54338Another slight change of route — Tuckerman’s instead of Lion’s Head. Lion’s Head branches off from Tuckerman’s anyway, it’s the same starting place.
Alex (who has at the last minute decided to join me) and I will start at 5:30am.
in reply to: Washington #54337Hi, need to clarify. I won’t be solo, MadRiver and his better half will probably be with me, and perhaps DiamondRidge as well. Anyone else who wants to join our crew is welcome.
Change of route — Lion’s Head, not Huntington’s.
My boots will be on trail at 6am, others can start later and catch up, or join me at 6, whichever you prefer. I want to give myself plenty of time to get up there, and then lots more time to make sure flag is up and properly secured. This is my first time being responsible for the flag, and I don’t want to screw it up. 😉
My kids and their father will be taking the Auto Road and will meet us up there.
in reply to: Washington #54336Yes, what Tobit said. Will post starting time of hike by Thursday morning. Hope to be up there by 10am, to give me plenty of time to assure proper flag configuration/stability.
in reply to: Mt Jackson #54076My daughter and I will see you either at the parking area or on the trail. We’ll meet you again at the top (assuming you’re staying at the summit between noon and 2pm).
We would love to hike with the group, but our pace will assuredly be slower than yours! We look forward to meeting you though, both on the trail and then again at the summit.
Trish (and Alex)
in reply to: Mt Liberty #54037Arg, sorry. My daughter wants to do Jackson instead. After looking at the mileage and elevation gain, we both think she may not be ready for Liberty. She could do it, but it would definitely push her limits of endurance. She thought she wanted the challenge, but this afternoon she changed her mind and requested that we do an “easier” 4K instead. Of course I need to hike to her comfort level, so this means we’re off to Jackson.
Was looking forward to meeting you, but I’m sure we’ll make your acquaintance another time. Have a great hike!
in reply to: Mt Liberty #54034We may do this one on Sat. We will take it slowly and leave at daybreak. My hiking partner is my young daughter (she is exceptionally strong and enthusiastic). I anticipate taking it easy and making a lot of stops, so you’ll probably pass us by at some point, despite our early start. If weather looks iffy, however, we’ll do a less exposed peak. Looking forward to meeting you all (weather permitting). Trish and Alex
